Hey, not surprizingly I found a double trap on my clone of a particular typical VFT that seems to make double traps very frequent, esp. later in the growing season, well as it approaches more and more should appear, here is the first.
That's a pretty wild mutation... it looks like the 2 outside trap halves share one inside half which is doubled back on itself. Is that what its doing or an illusion of the photo?
Wow! Wierd mutation. I dont really know what to tell you, I have seen mutations where the stalk split into 2 and there is a trap on each end, but nothing like this.
Hellz, this only happens once in a while, it could be easily propagated but its a more spontaneous mutation than regular...I have noted that crowed VFT plant do this mutation more frequent then solitary or spaced out plants.
VTPTFATHAVFT, I've had some other ones like 2 traps on one leaf (have to find it in my folders) and a half a trap before.
Nflytrap, I have no idea, it may bea paralyzed trap.
That's what I wanna know! It'd be cool to see how well/if the mutated trap works (well, each respective "half". Very interesting.
----addition---
NepG, would you be so kind as to supply us with a picture of the 'addition'? Furthermore, can you tell us anything about the 'addition'; is it still growing, and other abnormalities besides the placement?
