Dead!

I have had a vft for maybee a year and a half. Resently its growth started to slow down a lot and after about a week of not looking a it (cuz I was in mexico) it was dead. I came home today and just found this out. It looked like it had died from the roots up because the traps were still green but their stems had died and looked as if they were decomposing. Does anyone knoe what could have happend, and should I be concerned about my other plants?

PS: MY vft did not get any dormancy, could that have been the problem?

lack of a dormant period could've had a negative effect on the plant. don't worry, I lost about 35 plants this winter. grass is always greener.

Actually, I only give it demineralized water.

yes, it was most likely lack of dormancy that killed it..
if it was growing fine for a year and a half, and growing conditions had not changed before it suddenly died, then thats the most likely cause.
