here's a pict of 'First Light' - Spathulata x (Spectabilis x Veitchii) today after fully opening, if it's this colorful now, I can't wait to see it once it has a couple weeks to darken! now if I could only get that peristome to just stay in that position...
The latest pitcher on 'Stillest Hour' - (((thorelii x spectabilis) x campanulata) x truncata) showing a massive bump in size! Unfortunately the wind was incredibly strong today and blew the lid right off!
Thanks! 'Purple Haze' is really reminding me of another hybrid I purchased at the same time 'Esther' - (Spectabilis x Tobaica) xx Dyeriana = aka (Spectabilis x Tobaica) x ((N. northiana x N. maxima) x (N. rafflesiana x N. veitchii))
It has almost all of the same characteristics except that the peristome folds a little different and the inner lining speckling is more pronounced on Esther. Also the growth is more compact on 'Purple Haze' but that could be chalked up to the fact that they were on totally different sections of the greenhouse, one under shade cloth w more light and the other under tarp. Either way they both blew me away w the coloration!
it's transitioning to uppers now, so that should help to figure out what it is. The leaves are very thin for a ramispina, almost like it has some gracilis in it
Thanks! probably ninety some percent of the photos posted here are right from my iPhone, no editing. A couple are from my Canon Rebel T2i and processed in Lightroom.
