Drosera trinervia Stormsvleikloof, RSA seeds (at least 30 seeds probably much more)
below - some seedlings started last spring
The honor of the most numerous and widely distributed South African Drosera goes not to Drosera capensis but to the humble Drosera trinervia. This is a small rosetted sundew getting to ~1-1.25 inches (2.5-3.2 cm) across with brilliant white flowers. Perhaps the easiest to grow of the winter growing sundews it will go dormant in the summer months dying back to the roots.
Like most South African Drosera the optimal growing temperature is between 50 and 85°F though they will tolerate temperatures above and below that. What I find best for germinating the seeds are cooler temperatures between 55 and 72°F ambient humidity (<=75%) and very wet media. You should start some seeds during the spring and some after summer. No stratification hot or cold is needed. GA3 treatment may help but cooler temperatures and lower humidity are probably the most important factors. Germination should begin after 3-4 weeks. When the plants go dormant the media should be allowed to slowly dry completely. Protect the pots from rain and direct sun for a minimum of six weeks. Plants should resume growth on their own at which time you should slowly begin watering. Keep in standing water during growing season. If they do not resume growth by onset of winter you can usually break dormancy by very slowly moistening the media until growth starts.
This is becoming an annual offering for me. As long as the plants produce seed around the same time as the auction I will donate some.
At least 30 of the freshest seeds will be sent.
I'll pay shipping if the seeds are the only item. I'm going to try something different this time and I am willing to ship seed and only seed out of the US. Please consider:
Bidding starts at $2.00 USD

- I will declare these for custom purposes as "seeds for planting"
- No Phytosanitary Certificate will be supplied
- Any permits required by the recipient will be paid for by the winner and supplied to me before the item will be shipped
- If possible bidder should refer to a URL on a government website the covers importation of seeds for planting. If an English translation is not available do not bid. Google translate does very poorly with legal language.
Bidding starts at $2.00 USD
