I would just like to thank Flora for sending me my firs sundew plants in seed form. I got some Drosera pulchella seed and they came fast and in great shape. Some were already green so I think they where already started. I hope I have some good luck with thees. I only had 2 ziplocks that the pots...

I found this poor guy (or gal) in a dark, forgotten spot in a shop. I asked the workers how long it's been in there, and they said it's been for about two months!
This plant is in great shape for the time it spent forgotten from humanity (I suspect the only thing they did for it was...
Hi. This is my orchid terrarium. Its been in the works now for about six months. I will make comments as I go, but fire away with questions.
This is the cabinet, a snake case I was lucky to get for $80 on ebay.
I started by painting the interior with 4 coats of pond liner paint to...
So I noticed my N. x hookeriana wilting. I picked it up, and noticed that four ferns were growing out of the bottom. As I pulled them out the plant swiveled- it rotated around 360 degrees! After freaking, I tugged on it faintly, and it slide right out of the media. It only had one root! Media...

I had noticed my D. Intermedia had quite a few curled and twisted leaves and flowerstalks for some time now. One of the stalks ended up dying, the second stalk got... Weird. It divided in half, and it looked like a D. Binata leaf. That's when I took a very close look and saw tiny green bugs on...
Today I potted up a baby VFT "Akai Ryu".
I bought the parent plant from FlyTrapShop.com. It arrived on May 3rd. It started to send up a flower scape soon after it arrived. I cut the scape and tossed it in some live sphagnum on May 28th. On July 23rd, I saw several growth buds appear. Today it...
1. I have about a dozen or so cuttings of my Nepenthes "graciliflora" (the "smooth alata") available for trade. This is a very easy and vigorous species that can grow as a lowlander and highlander, although it seems to be pretty scarce in the trade right now. I have unrooted 2- and 4-node...
I got my first nepenthes, a reinwardtiana (highland red) around July 4th:
I filled the pitchers with a few drops of distilled water. The brown spots and the small yellow leaf concerned me so I sent an email to the seller, but never got a reply. I also found a single scale on a fallen leaf...
Hello everyone.
After looking online for quite a while, I found some growers tried using coconut husk chips along with sphagnum moss as a media for Droseras, but never found any results. Well, here I am to say what are MY results using a soil composed of 4/10 coco chips, and 6/10 long fiber...
I attempted to hybridize Drosera capensis "Typical" and Drosera aliciae this morning. This is my first effort at creating a hybrid.
I waited until flowers from both plants were wide open. Then I took some tiny cuticle scissors and cut off one of the anthers from the D. aliciae flower. The...
I think this one was a flowerstalk.
I want to cut it because I cannot afford having a bunch of D scattered around..
So maybe nextime I will let it bloom, but not now.
I hope there's still time to cut it down because I left my plants for 5 days and I came back and saw this.

This was a very simple one to sort out.
The leaves on the Daphne were having chunks cut out of them. I was working just outside the Darlingtonia house and these pieces of cut leaves, accompanied by a Leaf-cutter Bee, kept landing on my shoulder. She was then flying to the Bee Hotel and...
WELL its been a few weeks since i've had my Spatulata, it came to me with a slow growing flower stalk which i cut. maybe a week later another grew, which i cut, trying to leave its energy for getting used to its new home😄
BUT, 2-3 weeks later, the beginning of a new stalk!
should i allow it to...
I wanted to share my new ultra highland setup. I don't post much, but I got a ton of info from this forum during this build, so thank you all.
First, I somewhat suddenly found myself in possession of a few ultra highlanders via a trade, but didn't have the proper setup for them. The plants...
...because why not?
I "rescued" a crowntail betta yesterday, and put him into a temporary tupperware home...where for all intents and purposes, he'd probably be fine.
But I don't like having bettas in anything less than 2 gallons...my conscience nags at me. So today I set out on a DIY...
Hi everyone!
My sarracenia purp. Is flowering en mass, 6 flowers. I have had this particular plant for over 5 years and it was an adult when I got it so, it's an older plant. It has been doing very well over the years and has grown so big I had to put it into a 24 inch pot last year. I was...
